“The 2Mic design attempts, as much as possible within the confines of a guitar body, to record a three-dimensional sound…” Ken says. “The first two dimensions are created by each individual mic, both mechanically and electronically, and the third dimension is created by how the 2Mic design processes these two signals.”
The MiniFlex 2Mic Model 2 has a strap button attachment device attaches to the guitar strap buttons at the heel and tail block. The dual mounted microphones are then placed inside the guitar through the sound hole.
This device installs in approximately one minute on to any guitar.
The Model 2 is powered by a single AAA battery, and includes a slide volume control on the mic assembly. Both mics are mounted on to a single gooseneck that slides easily into the sound hole of the guitar.
Frequency response is 80-15K Hz, with a mid range impedance of 3500 ohms.
The Model 2 is pre-equalized to remove most of the mid to low frequency boom that occurs when amplifying acoustic guitars.
The Model 2 is batteries should be changed every 1-2 years depending on use. A significant drop in output volume will indicate that the batteries are low and need to be changed. A high quality PA system will provide the best possible sound quality and feedback control. For most PA systems, use the “line input” with a standard 1/4″ mono guitar cable. Or use the 1/4″ – XLR adapter into the mic input or snake.
